"The Mystic River", oil, by Roxanne Steed
We had a fluffy few inches of snow last night to add to the foot or so that’s still here from Nemo last weekend. The trees this morning made a pretty picture with their white limbs leaning over in graceful ways, and all the bushes looked like big, bright puffs of white.

To celebrate this special day for couples, Delycia and I dined at a local restaurant on the Mystic River, with a made-to-order view across the water to the great white homes on the other side. The sun had set, and the lingering light on the river had a fairylike look, like love was everywhere, not just at our table.

We enjoyed some tender and tasty seafood and, of course, our special kind of carefree conversation.
