STARTING OVER

The sunrise, in a sense, starts me over each morning, and so does the first splash of water on my face, the first steps into the kitchen, and the first fresh cup of coffee. All of these serve as signals that something new has shown up, something I’ve never seen before, something the universe has presented to me to help make my life over again. It’s quite astonishing, really. All things start fresh each second, each millisecond. In the morning, I put on clean clothes, but my entire life does that moment by moment. No cell in my body stays the same, but is constantly refreshed by brand new blood. Each moment, my mind makes unused, mint-condition thoughts, new feelings flow, and the sunlight looks a little different. Now, at 4:47:37 a.m. the universe is making something new, and then it will do it all over again, and again, and again.
