BEHOLDING BEAUTY

In a world so seemingly spread with the ugliness of violence, it’s essential that I search for beauty as much as possible – that I watch for, witness, and behold the ever-presence of beauty right where viciousness makes such a display of itself.  In the midst of bombings and assaults, there is the beauty of people bringing help to one another.  Nearby the clamor of animosity is the always stalwart silence of kindness.  Just beside bitterness is the welcoming presence of acceptance. Beauty is far brighter than violence, and stronger, and more able to abide and be brave. After the strongest storm there is the blossoming tree that still shows its loveliness, and after the craziness of people disliking people there’s always the straightforwardness of friendship.
