Frederick Church, "New England Scenery" (1851)

The only thing I need to remember today is that the present moment is sacred. Because it’s everywhere and has all power and is unlimited in its possibilities, the present moment is worthy of veneration. It deserves my deepest respect. Catholics believe in the sacred bread and wine, but I believe in the sacred present.
